Geister Film is a collective comprised of filmmakers Sandra Makhlouf, William Wrubel and Marlon Weber

Sandra Makhlouf was born into a Slovak-Syrian household in Slovakia. Based in Hamburg since 2012, she later began her studies at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg where she is currently continuing in the master’s programme. Her work focuses heavily on speech and work with language. She is a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation.
William Wrubel is a US-born filmmaker, currently based in Germany. In 2018 he earned his BA from Bard College, where he studied Film & Electronic Arts under Kelly Reichardt, Peter Hutton, and Peggy Ahwesh. His undergraduate thesis film received the Peter Hutton Award for Commitment to the Art of Filmmaking. In 2024, he received his masters in narrative film from the University of Fine Arts Hamburg.
Marlon Weber is a filmmaker from Berlin. Currently she is completing her masters in narrative film at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg and the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola in San Sebastian. Her short films have been shown in various festivals, among them International Short Film Festival Oberhausen. She is a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation.
